The Victim..!!

10:00 PM                                                                                                                        Noida, India
The dark sky swept across the silent streets of the city. Huge buildings across the streets stood like a monster ready to gulp the city. The security guard’s who were responsible for people’s safety were already half asleep securing their dreams. The only visible light being the flickering signal lights gave a hope of safety when Aarohi walked down the street.
Aarohi, 27-year-old, a girl with wheatish skin, sharp features and shinning black hair wore a beautiful floral blue dress covering her head with a pashmina shawl. The street where she rambled was a part of her everyday routine. Aarohi worked in a Well known IT company 2 lanes behind this street.

While she  walked along the lane, a brisk black Audi passed by her side. The shawl covering her head plunged by the wind-blown by the snappy car. She was taken a back by what she had just heard, someone from the car had shouted : “Hey lady, get inside our car..!!” Aarohi was stumped, she paused for a while, looked back and thought was it wise enough to return back. Having traveled almost more than half way there was no point returning back and with this thought she moved ahead. On her way she kept on murmuring “Aarohi this is the same route you have been hiking on since 3 years and it’s totally safe, nothings gonna happen you will reach home in next 15 mins.

As she moved ahead, she saw the same Audi taking a U-turn and coming on her way. Her breath sank and she started running in the opposite direction. Within few seconds the car spotted her and she was horrified, 2 furious young men came out and pulled her inside and one more on the front seat who used abusive words to call her inside. Aarohi tried every bit to save herself but all her efforts went in vain. She kept on shouting “Don’t pull me, someone help help..!!” There was no one to hear her sobbing scream.

And in few minutes all her belongings dropped on the road and she was in the car.

Inside the car, her hands were pulled tightly by the one seating on backseat and the other one holding her legs who was on the front seat. She tried every bit to save herself,  kept on impelling her hands and legs in every direction she could.

Slowly slowly, she had lost all her strength and could no more resist. With every single minute she could feel the pain, her clothes were ripped off one by one. She was in deep shock, hardly could she shout or utter a word. The rage in her eyes had now turned into shame. The only thought that she had

how will she face the world now?

What’s going to happen next?

Will they kill me? And If they don’t kill me, I would kill myself..!!

And in next one hour when the lust of the demon had been satisfied they kicked her out of the car on the footpath. There was no one on the road side and for a change Aarohi felt good about it. She was scared to face the world now. She tried getting up but failed not only once but thrice. She regained some energy, stood up and started figuring out the road. While she walked, her eyes, her mind, her heart still could not accept what had just happened with her. She thought of killing herself on her way back but for every time she thought to do so, the pity eyes which had been waiting for her at home stopped her from doing so. She knew she had to live for her parents and in no chance she could end her life.

Every moment on her way back, she thought if the devils who brought her to this stage Will even be punished? Will she get justice? Will the society accept her? Will her parents be able to face the world? Will she lead a normal life? What if every thing goes wrong? What if tomorrow she would be in the highlights of newspaper with a title “Aarohi Sharma : a middle-class family girl gang RAPED..!!”  Every inch of her body still could feel the pain and the marks given by them, she wanted to rub it off, tear her skin and hide in some corner and never get out of it.

She was now at the doorstep of her home, she ranged the bell and her dad opened the door. Her dad was scared by her condition, she hurriedly got inside and broke down. She kept on howling and shouting.  Even without speaking a word, her parents were clear of what had happened with her. They tried getting every detail of who had done this to her. For the entire night she kept on weeping and her parents who were already speechless tried consoling her.

This was not the end of the story, the actual tragedy happened next morning when Aarohi and her parents decided not to raise voice against what had happened with Aarohi. They all decided to forget the entire trauma as soon as possible. Just like every other middle class family, rather than fighting for justice they were worried more about the society.

And with this, One more chapter was masked and a smile was coated on the sore face. Although it took years for Aarohi to clear off the scars and lead a new life.

This forces me to think : What was her fault? Why was she been asked to keep her mouth shut? Was she doing something wrong on the street? If it was about her clothes then she was actually covered in a complete Indian attire, not even a drench of her body was visible. Why is that the fear of society kills our confidence?

In the country where we reside, every other day a girl like Aarohi is forced to live a dead life.

P. S : Wish Girls on this planet can soon enjoy their life in peace, without any fright of loosing their own self. One must not forget every girl is a daughter, a wife,a mother and a sister for someone, lets protect them and not make them a living dead soul.

The Surprising Door Bell

A year later, sharp at 12:00 am the door bell rang “TING TONG, TING TONG

Meera who was busy attending the phone calls rushed and opened the door. To her daze, a middle-aged man was standing on the other side holding a Bouquet of Blossoming Red Roses, her favorite Ferraro Rocher  chocolates and eye pleasing gifts.

Thunderstruck Meera was almost about to shout : “What Daaa….” Just then she gasped, collected all the stuff and hurried towards her room. For the next few minutes she kept on gazing all the gifts, she very well knew from where it had arrived. A drop of tear rolled down her eye when she murmured –

The Best Surprise from the Best Person” ~ Rahul. His name from Meera’s lips created a beautiful echo in the void room.

Meera calmed herself and started hunting for her phone. While dialing his number, Meera thought : ‘A call after a year‘ (Although no calls were made in the entire year but Rahul’s number still was in her favorite contact list). Even before the ring could be heard, Rahul picked up the call (The most awaited phone call for Rahul).

And it was “Silence on both sides

While Meera recovered some courage to say “Hi“, Rahul as always had already taken a move. The first 3 words he spoke were

Happy Birthday Darling..!!

The lovestruck word “DARLING” after a year made Meera blush. She finally spoke “Rahul, I am overwhelmed to see how perfectly you make my day so special. Each and every small effort of yours makes me feel so grateful. Thank you so much Rahul

Rahul replied : “Meera, this is the day I was waiting for since a year

The conversation then started and continued for hours and hours. They discussed about each and every bit of their past One year and also how much they missed each other. Loud laughter, tears of joy  and constant chitchat continued from both the sides. Clock ticked 9:00 am and when the rays of sun lighted the city, they realized they were already late for their moronic office.

Just before they were about to hung the phone, Rahul asked : “Meera, can we please meet today evening, at the same coffee shop ?

Meera (desperately wanted to meet him) : Within no seconds she replied “Yes Rahul, sharp at 7 pm

With grin on their lips and blush on their cheeks, the phone call ended.

P.S : Some relations demand time..
